Invest News DetailStar - European Investment Bank (EIB) plans to provide up to EUR 2 billion of loans to Turkey in 2011, according to EIB Vice President Matthias Kollatz-Ahnen. Turkey has received EUR 1.9 billion of EIB loan in 2010. Kollatz-Ahnen said that the main recipient of EIB’s 2010 funding was small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with EUR 907 million, while projects focusing on R&D and IT received EUR 450 million, energy projects received EUR 275 million, telecommunications EUR 250 million and projects on environmental technologies received EUR 50 million. Some EUR 600-700 million of EIB’s 2011 funding for Turkey will be made available to energy, climate studies and environmental projects, said Kollatz-Ahnen.
