Türkiye-Venezuela in talks for cooperation in food and textiles

Dunya - Venezuela, one of the world’s largest exporters of oil, is knocking on Türkiye’s door for cooperation in a number of fields, ranging from textiles to ICT. With a population of 27 million, the South American country relies heavily on external sources for food, imports reaching 70 percent.

A delegation led by Venezuelan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Temir Porras is in Türkiye, seeking cooperation with Turkish companies mainly operating in the food and textile industries. The construction and ICT sectors are also of interest to the Venezuelan trade delegation, whose members include representatives from the country’s largest retail chains, PDVAL and Mercal.
