Babacan: Türkiye will emerge stronger from the crisis

Dunya - Speaking at a meeting of the Economic Coordination Board (EKK) held in the central Anatolian province of Konya, Ali Babacan, the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister for Economy, said Türkiye will emerge stronger from the global economic crisis on the back of a sound financial system. Babacan said, "Thanks to the measures we took, Türkiye will have a very light debt burden and a stronger financial system in the post-crisis period." He added, "Türkiye did not face a financial meltdown due to the crisis. Economic measures taken and arrangements made by the government in the banking sector prevented Türkiye from experiencing a financial crisis." Babacan said they are working hard ahead of the post-crisis period, adding that they will soon announce economic targets for this period.
