Turkish Minister calls on Brazilian businessmen to invest in Türkiye

AA - Zafer Caglayan, Turkish State Minister for foreign trade, said Türkiye and Brazil are two countries that can complete each other and cooperate in many areas. During his speech at the "Türkiye-Brazil Business Forum" meeting held in Brazil, Caglayan said Türkiye wants to sign a free trade agreement with the Mercosur zone, which includes Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Caglayan and a large group of Turkish businessmen are on a tour of Latin America covering Chile and Brazil. Caglayan said the Turkish government aims to increase the trade volume with Brazil to USD 5 billion in the next three years, adding that the Turkish and Brazilian economies are very similar to each other. He stressed that the two countries may cooperate in several industries, particularly in aviation, construction, iron-steel and mining. Caglayan also called on Brazilian businessmen to invest in Türkiye, saying "you are good at soccer. You have 40 players in Türkiye. It is impossible for a team to be successful if they go back to defense. Stop playing defensively. You should step forward and play offensively."
