Microsoft CEO Ballmer: Türkiye may become Europe’s software center

Hurriyet – Referans - Microsoft has opened an innovation center in Cyberpark, Bilkent University in Ankara. Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, said they will develop innovative software projects and solutions in this center and that they will also focus on health, education and e-public services. Having held a joint press meeting with Alpaslan Korkmaz, President of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), Ballmer stressed the fact that Türkiye will become one of Microsoft's ten largest business partners in the next 5 to 10 years. Ballmer said Türkiye, with its dynamic economy and its young, technically-inclined population, has a vast potential for development and added that the country may become the software center of Europe. Ballmer said developing the scope of DreamSpark is also a very important project of Microsoft in Türkiye and went on to say: “Türkiye ranks 9th in Imagecup where software developers all over the world compete. This shows us the enthusiasm of Turkish students for software development.”
