Turkish President in China to boost economic ties

AA- Turkish President Abdullah Gul left for China on Tuesday following the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao. Gul will be accompanied by a large group of businessmen and state officials including Ali Babacan, the Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Zafer Caglayan, the Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade, and Besir Atalay, the Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs. Gul and Hu will discuss bilateral relations, ways to improve and strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and China, as well as regional and international issues, said Gul's spokesperson in an earlier statement. During the visit, officials of the two countries will sign several agreements and a Türkiye-China Business Forum will be held. In addition to talks in the capital city of Beijing, Gul will also visit the Chinese cities of Xi'an, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Urumchi.
