German Ergo chooses Turkey


Vatan-Milliyet - German Insurance group Ergo has chosen Turkey as its center for regional operations. Ergo, which has been operating in the country since the acquisition of Isvicre Sigorta in 2006, has decided to increase the amount of investments and take advantage of Turkey’s strategic location.


Dr. Jochen Messemer, Chairman of the Management Board of Ergo International, said Ergo has already invested EUR 300 million in Turkey and added that they will consider new acqusitions, given their plans to improve the company’s operations in the country. “Turkey will serve as a bridge in Southern Europe”, said Messemer, adding that the country’s strategic location will make it a center of operations for the company.
