The Investment Office and the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar (IPA Qatar) held a live event today to launch the joint report entitled, “Qatar & Türkiye Report on Bilateral Trade & FDI".
Türkiye's Ambassador to Qatar H.E. Mehmet Mustafa Göksu honored the event as a keynote speaker. Investment Office President Burak Dağlıoğlu and the IPA Qatar CEO Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani addressed participants at the welcoming remarks session. Bringing together investors from the two countries, the event also featured a panel discussion entitled “Success Stories of Turkish & Qatari Investors."
The Qatar & Türkiye Report on Bilateral Trade & FDI is the outcome of the MoU signed between the IPAs of Qatar and Türkiye at the 5th Qatar Türkiye Supreme Strategic Committee meeting held last year. The latest round of the committee meeting was held on November 26, 2020 at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. During the 6th Qatar Türkiye Supreme Strategic Committee meeting, jointly-chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Amir of Qatar, the two countries inked a series of new agreements, including the sales of a 10 percent stake at Borsa Istanbul to the Qatar Investment Authority.
