Investment Office President Burak Dağlıoğlu attended the board meeting of the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) via video conference on June 19. Dağlıoğlu pointed out that the Turkish government took all necessary measures to fight the COVID-19 while also ensuring that the economic activity, particularly in strategic sectors such as automotive, was minimally disrupted.
With a history of more than 50 years, Turkey’s automotive sector transformed itself from assembly-based partnerships to a full-fledged industry with design capability and massive production capacity. With capacity to produce nearly 1.5 million vehicles per year, Turkey is the 15th largest automotive producer in the world and the 5th largest in Europe.
Established in 1974 and having 14 members, all being global players, Turkey’s Automotive Manufacturers Association represents the automotive manufacturers operating in the country at domestic and international levels.
