Türkiye, Saudi Arabia sign JEC protocol

Türkiye - Türkiye and Saudi Arabia signed a Joint Economic Commission (JEC) protocol in the Saudi capital Riyadh, in a bid to jointly work on increasing cooperation in a number of key sectors. Signed by the Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and Saudi Minister of Transport Jubarah Bin Eid Al-Suraisry, the protocol envisions tighter relations between Turkish and Saudi business communities, including joint investments in third countries.

“Many fields of cooperation exist for Türkiye and Saudi Arabia. Türkiye has attracted some 30 million tourists last year, ranking 7th in the world in terms of foreign visitors. With a growing population consisting of 63 million cell phone users, 44 million credit card holders and 30 million internet subscribers, Türkiye is a rapidly growing country, catching up with the West,” said Simsek in his speech after the signing ceremony.
