German retailer opens Türkiye’s biggest tech store

Hurriyet Daily News - German technology retailer Saturn will open its second store, situated at the heart of Istiklal Avenue in Istanbul, on Thursday, the company announced at a press conference Wednesday. The store will be the biggest technology store in Türkiye.

The store is established on a 9,000-square meter area. The biggest Saturn store in the world is in Hamburg, on an area of 18,000 square meters. Nuri Topatan, the CEO of Media-Saturn Türkiye, said Istanbul was “one of the best cities in the world” while Istiklal Avenue is at the center of the city. “Two million people walk on the street every day,” Topatan said, adding that there is not a single place like Istiklal in Europe.

Türkiye’s technology sector has reached USD 27.3 billion in volume in 2010 and the country is home to an increasing number of consumer electronics retailers.
