Invest News DetailDunya – The D8 group, formed by eight developing nations, has chosen Türkiye as the location of the world’s first true “Seed Bank”. The initial decision to establish the bank was first taken in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur in the ministerial level meeting held in February 2009. The bank will serve as a trade center rather than a museum to guarantee the survival of certain species of plants. To be the world’s first in terms of purpose and structure, the first meeting of the USD 350 million project will be held in İzmir, with 16 officials from both public and private institutions from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan and Türkiye attending.
